We’re back with another great Atlantic Auto Group Travel Guide! Today we’re taking a trip to New England, and exploring all there is to enjoy about Provincetown, MA. It’s a beautiful town on the northern point of Cape Code, with beautiful coastal scenery, pristine beaches, historic sites, plenty of top tier restaurants, and gorgeous art galleries.
Although it’s most popular for Summer Vacations, it’s also an excellent year round destination less than a day’s drive from Long Island. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway for those short on time, and also a wonderful option for a lengthier, more leisurely stay as well.

Provincetown Art Association and Museum is a wonderful place to see a permanent collection of works by local Cape Cod artists, and hosts a wonderful rotating set of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and community cultural events.

Province Lands Bike Trail loops all around Provincetown through pine forests, sand dunes, local beaches, and even cranberry bogs. It’s also the first ever bike trail created by the National Park Service!

MacMillan Pier is the hub of Provincetown, with ferries in the wharf providing service to and from Boston. It’s also home to the area’s fishing industry! You can pick up a boat here for a fishing expedition, whale watching, and so much more.

Expedition Whydah is a fabulous museum dedicated to the history of the Whydah Gally, the only fully authenticated pirate shipwreck recovered. You’ll learn a little bit about The Golden Age of Piracy and get in touch with the history of Cape Cod.

Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum was built and established to commemorate the arrival of the first Pilgrims in 1620. You’ll find a 252” tall monument and history museum chronicling the arrival of the Mayflower Pilgrims and history of Cape Cod.

Beech Forest Trail is a wonderful outdoor destination that forms a figure-8 and perfect for hiking, leisurely strolls, cycling, and photography. It’s a 1-mile trail around two Provincetown ponds through a beechwood forest.

Art’s Dune Tours is an amazing off-road tour through the National Historic District Of the Cape Cod National Seashore Park via a fleet of 4 wheel drive vehicles. There are daily tours, sunset tours, and even a dune + kayaking tour.. You’ll see the National Seashore Park dunes, beaches, Race Point Lighthouse, and more!

Commercial Street in Provincetown is the main street and go-to destination for delicious food, fun games and entertainment, historic sites, local artisan shops, souvenirs and memorabilia, and even artwork. It’s the busiest and best known street, and perfect for visitors of all ages!
From breweries and pubs to cafes and comfort foods, you will have plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as in between. No matter what type of food you enjoy or your dietary restrictions and preferences, there’s something for all to partake!
